Ultima Online Guide: Arcane Outfitter

What is the Arcane Outfitter?

The Arcane Outfitter is a new NPC that lets you convert the paperdoll look of your armor to one of the new Paladin Armor sets.

There are currently 4 armor sets to choose from:

Paladins

Where is the Arcane Outfitter located?

Arcane Outfitters are located throughout various mage shops.

We find the easiest one to get to is the mage shop to the east of the Bank of Vesper.

What are Tickets and how do I get them?

Tickets are the currency used at the new Arcane Outfitter NPC.

You can acquire them from the Ultima Store (in-game store) for Sovereigns.

Tickets

Tickets are a Virtual Currency, there is not a physical item associated with this purchase.

You should purchase the tickets on the character you want to use the Arcane Outfitter on.

How do I purchase a set of Paladin Armor?

Once you have purchased tickets, visit the Arcane Outfitter NPC and double-click on them.

Gump

Select the Paladin set you wish to purchase by clicking on the purple button beneath it.

Press the green OKAY button to purchase a set of that armor.

Once you purchase a set, you will receive 1x Alteration Charge per equipment slot for this armor.

You can view this information on the right of the gump, under Available Alterations:

Alterations

In the above screenshot, I have 1 available alteration for each armor slot for the Paladin of Air set.

You can also see that I do not have any available alterations for the other Paladin armor sets, as I did not purchase those sets. So make sure you purchase the correct set you want!

It is worth noting that you can purchase multiple sets, and even multiple copies of the same set. This information will be reflected in the Available Alterations section.

How do I apply the Paladin Armor I purchased?

Simply wear the armor you wish to convert and speak to the Arcane Outfitter NPC.

In the Available Alterations section, you will see a Green or Red dot next to each available armor piece.

A red dot means that armor slot will not be converted.

A green dot means that armor slot will be converted.

Select the Paladin Armor you have purchased in the gump, and click the green "Confirm Selection" button in the Available Alterations section.

** IMPORTANT **
You do not have to convert every piece at the same time! You will not lose your tickets or your Alteration charges. This means that you can visit the Arcane Outfitter with just a chest piece equipped and convert that piece, and you are able to return at a later time to convert your Legs, Head, Gloves, Neck, and Arm pieces (assuming you still have available alterations).

If all goes well, your valid equipped armor pieces will now be converted to the new Paladin Armor set you chose!

Why does my Armor look different than the picture?

The armor will take on the color of the armor you are wearing at the time of conversion.

So if you are wearing Balron Bone Armor, the resulting Paladin chest piece will be hue 2753.

However, you are able to freely dye the Paladin armor pieces with any Natural or Promotional dye.

Why is my armor piece showing invalid (red dot)?

There are several restrictions we have found that prevents a piece of armor from being used at the Outfitter:

• It cannot have refinements applied

• It cannot already be transmogged

What type of armor is the Paladin Armor?

The Paladin armor is considered Metal armor.

It is non-medable by default and it will provide the passive bonus of 1% LMC and Heavy Stamina Loss protection when equipped.

However, if the armor you are converting to the Paladin armor is Medable (Cloth/Leather, or Mage Armor property), the resulting Paladin Armor will have the Mage Armor property applied.

This means all character types will be able to make use of the Arcane Outfitter if they wish.
